The Woodpicks, a 5 piece bluegrass band from Minnesota, recently used an Equation Audio F.20 microphone on a recording of “Walkin’ In Jerusalem.” The Woodpicks chose the F.20 because of its flat response over the entire pickup pattern. So I know you’re asking, “what’s the point?” The point is, not only does the F.20 sound good, but it’s extremely affordable, especially when you divide the cost between 5 bluegrass “pickers.” Oh, did I mention the F.20 retails for around $699 (MSRP)? The street value is around $599. We were once told, by one of our dealers, that this is “the best $2,000 mic he’d ever heard.” We just smiled and thanked him for the compliment.
